Community College of Denver mourns the auto accident death of Yvonne Frye, who taught at the college for 39 years
During her 39-year-career at the Community College of Denver, Yvonne Frye touched the lives of tens of thousands of students, faculty said.
Frye, 62, the longest-tenured teacher at the college, died early this morning in a two-car crash in Denver.
"The woman had a heart of gold — she touched so many people," said Georgia Fox, assistant to the school's president, who has known Frye for 15 years. "I called her the Pied Piper; you'd never see her walking down the hall without students trailing her."
Karen Bleeker, president of the college, said Frye was currently teaching five classes and had about 125 students.
