Solano Community College (SCC) has recently decided to team up with Sonoma State University to offer a new bachelor's degree completion program.

This program will take place on the Vallejo campus starting in the spring 2011 semester.

The program will give students working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at Solano Community College the ability to take upper division SSU classes at the community college.

On Monday, Sept. 27, the signing event took place on the Vallejo campus to mark the start of an accord between SCC and SSU. The agreement between SCC and Sonoma State was put into action after the Measure G bond campaign passed in 2002.

The bond used tax payers' money in Solano County to build the Vallejo Center on the Solano campus. It will also allow students at Solano to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from Sonoma State University.
