The Office of Admissions is seeking a dynamic, energetic, changemaker leader to serve as the next Transfer Admissions Counselor. The Transfer Admissions Counselor is a unique position that provides critical and strategic planning to the enrollment transfer admissions at Nazareth. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Advanced Enrollment and Partnerships, this position is also responsible for managing a geographic territory for transfer enrollment, supporting on-campus recruiting and admissions activities, reviewing admissions files and contributing to the overall goals of the office and the colleges undergraduate enrollment goals.

A flexible work schedule that will include days, evenings, and some weekends is required. Travel, valid drivers license, and access to a vehicle is required.
Essential Functions
Recruitment/ Territory Management:
    • Manage an assigned geographic territory and successfully engage in recruiting activities to attract, select and enroll students from those areas. Activities may include representing Nazareth at college fairs, conducting off-campus interviews, serving on community college panels and other face-to-face communication. In addition, updating and managing territory information through Slate. (40%)

 


Application Review Process:
  • Performs preliminary transfer evaluations and carefully reviews all transcripts to calculate cumulative GPA, acceptance and scholarship tier. Provide course suggestions to community college students for a seamless transfer.
 

  • Ensure that students and other internal constituents experience high levels of customer service across: in-person, phone, email, and live agent modalities. (30%)

Programming:
  • Engage in relationship building activities with community colleges and four-year institutions both on and off campus, successfully lead on and off-campus information sessions to prospective students and their families to increase applications and yield.
 

  • Assist in planning and organization of transfer events. (10%)



Operations and outreach:
  • Work with the operations to endure that all transfer application materials are uploaded into SLATE. (10%)

Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
  • One year of experience in higher education, academic advisement, orientation, and/or a related field are required.

 

 
  • Superior customer service skills, professional, team player, goal-orientated, and willing to learn. Ÿ Bachelors Degree
 
  • An ability to work independently and manage individual responsibilities is a must. Comfort and aptitude in managing, manipulating and analyzing data files such as Excel
  • Technical proficiency in standard business applications (MS Office Suite, GoogleDocs, etc.) is a requirement
 
  • Valid Drivers License
 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and be able to attend to and prioritize projects.
 

  • Ability to successfully manage interpersonal working relationships. As appropriate, collaborate with staff in other units and divisions to achieve the goals of the College.
 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 

  • Handles confidential information sensitively and appropriately.
 

  • High level of self-management and the ability to innovate and solve problems in an often fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Full Supervision of other non-supervisory employees. May share some responsibility for employment decisions with higher level management.
