Position Summary
As a member of our Visitor Services department, youll be a front-line ambassador, welcoming visitors to explore the Clarks world-renowned collection, exceptional special exhibitions, and a wide array of public programs for visitors of all ages. Crew members are a fundamental component of our visitor experience and help manage our busy museum campus, both inside our four buildings and outdoors on our expansive 140-acre campus.

Responsibilities range from hospitality, admissions, and membership sales to wayfinding and information, guest transport, parking management, and event support. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and exceptional people skills are essential qualifications. Candidates with the greatest availability will be given preference.

This position requires working weekends and holidays.

Minimum Starting Rate: $18.00/hour

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Assist with the daily functions of the various admissions and reception desks – selling museum admission/combination tickets/event tickets/memberships/multimedia guides, as well as greeting visitors/members/staff/trustees at various touchpoints around the Clarks campus.
  • Assist with transport of our visitors with accessibility needs in various ways (driving wheelchair-accessible golf carts (18+), helping to load visitors onto our wheelchair-accessible shuttle, and serving as a companion to visitors utilizing our other wheelchair-accessible vehicles).
  • Serving as a Clark ambassador and promoting superior customer service across all visitor/member/staff/trustee interactions.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and Skills

  • Friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic, reliable, and outgoing.
  • Loves to share knowledge and will take pride in making sure the Clarks visitors are as awed by their experience as they are by the fantastic art and architecture.
  • Comfortable switch-tasking in a fast-paced, customer-service environment and performing a range of engagement and logistics roles including sales, visitor engagement, and traffic control.
  • Aptitude for learning our POS system and Microsoft Teams, or learning our parking, trails, and transportation system.
  • Keen eye for detail and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated cultural competencies: the ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
  • The ability to ride a bicycle.
  • A drivers license is required for operation of Clark golf carts and/or other vehicles.


Work Experience

  • Previous customer service experience is helpful, but not required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Physical Demands: Moderate physical exertion required, including the ability to work standing for between four and eight hours a day in all weather conditions and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment: Work will usually be performed in museum spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to high.
