Job Introduction

The Admission Counselor is responsible for the coordination of recruitment and admission efforts for prospective students. The Admission Counselor represents the College at both virtual and in-person high school visits, community college visits, college day/night events, open houses, and college fairs. The Admission Counselor will also contact and meet with prospective students, give admission presentations, review applications for admission, serve as a member of the Admission Committee, and occasionally give campus tours.

 

Job Description

The Admission Counselor will manage the recruitment and admission of first year students to the College, and will manage assigned geographic territories, including contacting prospective and accepted students and traveling to selected geographic areas across the region and country. This position may also include some international travel. The Admission Counselor will recruit diverse and academically talented students while serving as the College liaison for prospective students from initial inquiry to enrolled status.

The Admission Counselor will evaluate application credentials and recommend admission decisions; serve as a member of the Admission Committee, and Coordinate alumnae and parent volunteers to assist with recruitment activities by covering college fairs, participating in open house programs, and contacting applicants via telephone, letter or e-mail.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Spanish speaking language skills preferred
  • The ability to effectively communicate the value of a Catholic, residential, womens college experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral skills. Must be comfortable speaking one-on-one with students, parents, alumnae, and guidance counselors; as well as making presentations to small and large groups.
  • Must be comfortable making phone contacts with students, parents and guidance counselors during all stages of the admission and financial aid process.
  • Must possess extraordinary organizational and multitasking skills; must be comfortable traveling alone to new cities, have a good sense of direction, possess the ability to read maps and navigate from location to location in unknown environments.
  • Must be willing to work odd hours such as weekends and evenings.
  • The successful candidate will be creative, possess a high degree of energy, and have the ability to work as a team member in an enrollment management
    setting.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including a solid understanding of spreadsheets.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license, clear a criminal background and moving violation check, be willing to travel outside of the immediate area and work
    after regular office hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.

 

Schedule

40 Hours/ 12 Months, Monday - Friday
