Position Announcement: HISTORY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE FACULTY

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of History and Political Science Faculty. The History and Political Science Faculty will assist with History and Political Science curriculum design and evaluation, and teach History and Political Science classes. The History and Political Science Faculty is the champion for these programs and will work closely the Dean, Chair and other faculty to support enrollment, student success, student retention and degree completion.

This position will start with the Spring 2024 academic semester, starting on January 11, 2023.

Required Qualifications:

A master's degree or higher in the discipline or related subfield (as determined by the discipline/program) from an accredited college or university. If a faculty candidate or instructor holds a master's degree or higher in a discipline or subfield other than that in which he or she is teaching, that faculty member or instructor must have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach. Some disciplines/programs may utilize tested experience as a qualification in lieu of the master's degree.

Contract Specifics:

This is a 163-day annual contract. For the spring 2024 semester, the contract will be prorated to 81 days, with a full contract commencing in the fall of 2024. Annual salary is $43,000-$50,600 depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive fringe benefit package available through the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE). Position to begin as soon as a qualified candidate is identified.
