What you'll do on a typical day

The full time History faculty member is part of a dynamic team that is responsible for facilitating class components of courses within the college transfer program. Classes are primarily located at the Davie Campus in Mocksville, NC. The nine-month History faculty member reports directly to the Dean of Davie Campus Academic Programs.

  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College
  • Creates meaningful and relevant learning experiences
  • Evaluates student progress as well as maintains and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy
  • Engages with college initiatives and campus activities

 

Your attributes

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Required:

  • Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in History
  • Teaching experience

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Second teaching field (requires 18 graduate credit hours in a second field such as English, Sociology, or Philosophy)
  • Community College teaching experience 
  • Experience using a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, to deliver course content

 

Work environment

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
