Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at several satellites and instructional sites throughout the Greater Boston area. The largest of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, BHCC serves some 18,000 students annually, focusing on holistic student services to ensure student retention and persistence. The College offers certificates and associate degrees, early college and dual enrollment, non-credit community and corporate training, and industry-specific training programs. Job Description:

BHCC is seeking full-time, tenure-track faculty member in the Visual Media Arts Department with a focus on Digital Film. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse learners. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College. Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations.

Specific Duties: 

Requirements:

• MFA in film, media production, or related field. 
• Demonstrated evidence of narrative fiction or documentary film production work (reel and links to full projects required)
• Ability to teach all stages of digital film production, including camera, audio, and editing
• Focus on teaching, valuing, and celebrating global perspectives in film
• Experience with and understanding of culturally responsive education
• Commitment to showcasing and highlighting student work beyond the classroom
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population
• Willingness to be trained in online course development and delivery

Most courses in the Visual Media Arts Department are delivered in person at the Charlestown Campus of BHCC. Candidates should expect to have all or most of their teaching assignments to have an in person component. Online approaches in Visual Media Arts at BHCC often supplement in person delivery or provide options for coursework in less hands-on subject areas.

Salary Range: $58,000.00-$68,000.00. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
