The Marketing and Communications Coordinator provides leadership in social & digital media outreach for specific student populations for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. This position will be responsible for actively engaging prospective and current students, as well as business and industry through the implementation of a comprehensive digital media strategy. This position will manage the website and assist communication processes and procedures. This position will also use social/digital media to educate and engage constituencies about the adult education program and career and technical education opportunities at technical and community colleges throughout the state.

Duties and Responsibilities:
SOCIAL MEDIA
  • Responsible for management of social media presence on all relevant platforms.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for identified student populations, community and business and industry partners.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans targeting special populations.
  • Provide benchmarking goals and continually measure the impact of social media.
  • Serve as the LCTCS “Social & Digital media expert,” remaining current with emerging trends, opportunities, and best practices. Regularly updates colleagues and management on these trends and makes recommendations for new activities.
  • Coordinate a social media calendar of daily/weekly scheduled posts (including but not limited to the daily news clips) across all participating platforms
  • Establishes, manages, and evaluates a process for targeted and mass release of System news to Louisiana media contacts regarding innovative education and workforce training programs, public/private partnerships and personnel and honors announcements.
  • Responsible for compiling and sending out pertinent local and national news for the daily electronic report: LCTCS: News Around the State, which is distributed system wide.
DIGITAL MEDIA
  • Advise, consult, and provide services related to the design, creation, and online delivery of digital media.
  • Manage the creation and production of videos, including: concept/theme development, production planning, and execution of all steps resulting in a final product. Produce/film/edit videos using in-house equipment.
  • Content development for website
  • Work closely with graphic designers, and other vendors to ensure seamless execution of marketing campaigns.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education : A baccalaureate degree in a related field.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
  • Advanced Graphics, Photography, and Video capabilities preferably in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of social/ Digital media and networking platforms
  • Ability to think both critically and creatively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, public speaking, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
