Job Description
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking one full-time, fixed-term faculty member for Art (Art History) for the 2024-2025 academic year. This position will include both seated and online classes, as well as participation in discipline and division matters. The Art department values collegiality and collaboration as part of its commitment to teaching and learning and seeks candidates with strong interpersonal skills. The home campus will be at the Coon Rapids location for seated sections; online sections may include either or both campuses.
 
Anoka-Ramsey Community College Art Department provides a quality arts education and assists students in achieving their artistic and career goals. In addition to offering an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree, the Art Department also provides an opportunity to explore a variety of arts media. We contribute to the liberal arts education of all students by offering introductory studio courses in drawing, ceramics, glass, digital media, graphic design, painting, photography, and sculpture, as well as art history and art appreciation. We prepare individuals to build their portfolios or transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program at a four-year college or university.

Required Qualifications
  • Masters degree with a major in fine arts or
  • Masters degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in art.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching and/or professional experience in Art history, or promise in these areas:
  • Experience teaching Art History and Art survey courses on-line or promise in this area;
  • A philosophy of teaching that successfully integrates process-based teaching, student-centered learning techniques, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset;
  • Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing proven strategies to eliminate equity gaps; and
  • A proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students, colleagues, and others.

Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota States vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

Benefits Info
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303 -$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
